Well, it’s been a while since I last posted. I’ve been busy at work being a “Mad Scientist (TM)” and the Internet connection at the VA doesn’t work so well. So I’m finally getting a chance to update things at home (Alex keeps us busy). I’ve updated my About, Research, and Publications pages and added a new video of Alex reading. I finally tried a Kindle. I like the eBook concept and the eInk screen, but the Kindle 2 was too small for reading PDFs, so I sent it back and will either get a Kindle DX or a Plastic Logic QUE depending on availability of the QUE. We’re going to buy a few Apple tablets at work, but I don’t think that will be a good eReader solution unless Apple surprises everyone with some new display technology. I’ll post an update on Thursday when I find out about the QUE (announcement at CES). I’m hoping they’ll be available immediately at B&N.

Alex holds his own cookie but not his cup.
Well Alex is quite proficient at holding his food but he refuses to hold his own sippy cup still. :). Here he is munching on a gluten free ginger snap.
Oh. Also, it’s his 1st birthday today! Happy birthday, Alex!
Dissertation Approved
Well my defense last Monday was successful. My dissertation was approved by the grad school on Wednesday. I cleaned out my office and turned in my keys on Friday. I’m finally done. I will post my dissertation soon along with a discussion of the work.

Jamie took Alex to Disney last weekend with her parents. It looks like they had a good time. 🙂 Notice him flirting on the bottom right, he really likes girls.
